Our area is famous for its spectacular scenery, beautiful unspoilt beaches, and the hospitality of its people. Ardara is a designated Heritage Town and also a well known centre for the manufacture of Donegal homespun tweeds. The area boasts a thriving tourist trade and social scene, and has been dubbed "The Festival Capital of Donegal" as well as being a designated Heritage Town. If you are hoping to visit the area, we offer you a hearty welcome. If you are from Ardara and are living elsewhere, we hope we can keep you up to date with the goings on from your home parish as often as possible. Hugh Campbell and Stephen Mc Cahill make a presentation to Tom Mc Bride on Tuesday 14th of May at a function in Dohertys Bar to mark his transfer from the Parish to Bunbeg following a long period serving Ardara as a Community Garda. Tom is wished the best from everyone in the Parish and many thanks for his sterling work during his time here.

Another Successful Ardarathon 10k took place on Saturday 20th of April with over 800 entrants. Well done to all concerned. The profits raised this year will go to Our Ladys Hospital and the Ardara Sheltered Housing.

Narin and Downstrands is a new publication by Francis Shovlin, a native of Narin now living in Donegal Town. It comprises a long essay on the history of the Narin area together with a series of essays of local interest published in Dearcadh over the past twenty years.
It is available at Diver’s in Ardara, Morgan’s in Portnoo, Nicholson’s (The Cope) in Narin and The Dolmen Centre in Kilclooney.
