Feast of St. Blaise.  Blessing of throats at the Masses.

Friday is the First Friday.  Masses at 10.00 a.m. &  7.30 p.m.

11.00 a.m.

All night vigil before the Most Blessed Sacrament, Friday night / Saturday morning.

 

Pioneer Council Meeting after the Evening Mass on the First Friday.

As Fr. Cannon is off on sick leave at the moment, the elderly and housebound of the Parish will be attended as follows:

Thursday:  The Portnoo Road, Kentucky, The Glenties Road etc and the Point.

Friday:        The Town; The Donegal Road; Leaconnell, Maghera, Owenteskna  

                     and Glengesh etc., all depending on weather conditions.

Please inform those who may not get this Newsletter of these changes.

 

Community Notices

 

Jumble Sale, in aid of the People of Haiti, in “The Hills” this Sunday, beginning at 12.30 p.m.  Your support will be appreciated.

 

The St. Vincent de Paul Collection, this weekend, goes to the support of the same very worthy cause.  Support please.

 

€405 was contributed by the Re-union of Class 1994, Glenties Comprehensive, for the relief of Irish Flood Victims.

 

The Senior Citizens will be in the “Green House” on Monday, 1st February for lunch and afterwards for the making of St. Brigid’s Crosses.

 

Last weekend’s collection for the Lourdes Invalid Fund amounted to €724.  Thanks for your support.

 

Raphoe Diocesan Parish Renewal Initiative.

Prayer intention for February – “We pray for the people in our own country whose lives have been affected by adverse weather and we also remember even more the victims of the Haiti Earthquake.  Let our prayer be supported by our generosity in helping”.

 

The Tax Clinic will be held on Saturday, 6th February, in Killybegs, (next door to the Credit Union), 9.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m.  If you have tax questions, you are invited.  Fee applicable.

 

The “Oliver Boyle Memorial” Twenty Five Card Drive will be held in the Corner House on Sunday, 7th February at 8.00 p.m.  Proceeds in aid of the Ardara Resource Centre.

 

Raphoe Diocesan Pilgrimage to Fatima, departs Dublin 9th September.  Details on posters on the Notice Boards.

 

The Dead

We remember in prayer all those whose anniversaries occur at this time.

Also, the deceased members of the Raphoe Diocesan Society, especially those from our parish community who are enrolled during the past quarter:  Margaret Breslin, Stravalley; Patrick Breslin, Cronkeerin; Nellie Byrne, Kilcar; Margaret Slowey, Tullycleave; John Curran, Kentucky; Catherine Cannon, Ard Chonaill.

May their souls and all the souls of the Faithful Departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.  Amen.
