St. Patricks Parade will take place on Sunday March 20th, with all the marching bands now in place, the focus is on getting as many floats as possible. This year there are many topics and ideas for floats, so we ask all to get your thinking caps on. The Marshall for this years parade will be announced shortly, and this year we want to expand the parade with appropiate traditional music on the street up around the Ceile House. We are asking all business people to decorate their windows for the festival and we have a special cup for the winning and best window display which will be judged on Sunday morning before the parade. We would ask our national schools to come on board this year and maybe put a theme float in the parade as we celebrate the Easter Rising. The Walking Festival always coincides with the weekend festival and the organiser John Damian Gallagher has some wonderful walks organised, these include : Saturday March 19 , Walk A is from Port to Maghera (about 6 / 7 hours) Walk B is from Port to Glen Head (loop walk 3 / 4 hours) Sunday also has some beautiful walks with : Walk A Glengesh to Granny ( 3 / 4 hours ) and Mulmosog Walk from Nicke to Mulmosog and Ardvalley ( about 3 hours ) Booking take place from now and in particular book Walk A on Saturday soon as space is limited and this is such a popular walk. John Damian is on 0876655828 or on email : johngallagher3369 @gmail.com Also booking will take place in the Heritage Centre on Friday March 19 between 8 and 10 pm.
